B&W Headshots v Colour Headshots

Many actors seem to wonder whether it is better to have a bw or colour headshot and to be honest there is probably no right or wrong answer!
There does seem to be a higher demand these days from agents for colour and this seems to be more in line with the style of headshots in LA and New York.
I generally supply all headshots in both black and white and colour and this way you have the option to choose depending on what your agent prefers or the casting calls for.
Think of it this way and imagine a casting agent with 20 shots in front of them and nearly all are in bw and yours pops up in colour and grabs there attention!
Perhaps in this split second you have just made them wonder about you and it gets you an audition.
Ultimately if you have a really strong shot where your eyes are connected and engaged with the camera with the right lighting and good contrast you are on the right track whether your in bw or colour!

House of Bernada Alba

Ami Sharpe who did all the logos for my website and marketing is part of an upcoming production of “the house of bernada alba”
(which I also did the photos for) at the Northcote town hall so I just thought I would give it a shout out and hopefully lots of people get along to see it.
These are the details:
ALTERIOR MOTIVE THEATRE COMPANY PRESENT:
THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA by FEDERICO GARCIÁ LORCA
As a new translation by celebrated British playwright David Hare

16th-21st March 2010 at Studio One, Northcote Town Hall.

Sweltering amid the oppressive heat of rural Spain stands The House of Bernarda Alba. Within its walls wait her five adult girls, locked inside and condemned by their tyrannical mother to 8 years of mourning over the death of their father.
But Bernarda is a prisoner too. A prisoner of her grief, her pride and her determination to maintain honour.
Outside in the distance, the men-folk work and sing and talk. Bernarda tries desperately to keep them at bay, but it is only a matter of time before tempers flare and the rope snaps…
Regarded by many as Lorca’s best play, The House of Bernarda Alba is a powerful tale of passion and frustration.
With an entirely female cast Alterior Motive present a visually stunning and proudly Spanish representation of a true masterpiece.

16th-21st March 2010 at Studio One, Northcote Town Hall.

Tuesday – Friday 7.30pm
Saturday 2pm and 7.30pm
Sunday 6.30pm show

Tickets $25 (Full) $20 (Concession) book online
or call Northcote Town Hall on (03) 9481 9500
